{Fur Babies + Weddings} In Memory of Gucci

On January 15, my husband & I mark two events, each very, very different.  This year on January 15, we happily celebrated our second wedding anniversary (yay!) & we quietly remembered our sweet, precious Gucci who we put to sleep three years ago after a long, happy life (sniff, sniff).  We considered not getting married on January 15 because it was the day our hearts broke & we lost Gucci but, in the end, life goes on.  But my buddy is still missed & forever loved!

Today, I've gathered a few of my favorite images of fur babies in weddings & I dedicate this pet post to my Gucci.

The pretty flower pup & handsome ring pup make quite the dapper duo:

The adorable flower pup perfectly coordinates with the sunny yellow bridal party:

An autumn backyard wedding clearly calls for some participation from the Bride & Groom's pups:

I can't decide what I like best: the pups' frilly tutus or their big smiles!

Hey, not everyone is thrilled with wearing a tutu:

So, SO cute- a little fur adds charm to any wedding!

For you, Gucci.  You added so much love & laughter & antics & memories to my life.

{Sneak Peek} Jen & Paul

Happy Friday!  I am pretty, pretty excited for this weekend because we are celebrating Christmas.  Yes, Christmas!  We don't get to see my Dad's family during the busy Christmas season so we pick a later date to gather & celebrate.  Sometimes it's been as late as summer before our schedules coordinate so we're pretty proud to at least be in the appropriate season this year.  Before I sign off to wrap one last Christmas gift, I wanted to leave you with a sneak peek of next Wedding Wednesday's delight:

When you combine a Jimmy Choo Bride with a Converse Groom, you can imagine it's going to be fantastic wedding.  Be sure to tune in next Wedding Wednesday to enjoy this beautiful wedding!

Happy Weekend!

{Classic Autumn Mansion Wedding} Nicole & Corey

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Today's wedding is a classic beauty.  It's got a little bit of everything: a historic Maryland mansion with formal gardens, an insanely gorgeous Bride, pops of bright red & killer dance moves.  Robert Holley Productions was on hand to capture every last detail:

My Favorite Moment: The sight of the Bride & Groom taking a private moment & dancing on the lawn is absolutely lovely & precious!

My Favorite Detail: The unique red bridal bouquet, including the always cool protea.

Congratulations, Nicole & Corey!

{DIY Hometown Wedding} Jessica & Reese

Welcome to the first Real Wedding of 2013!

Let's start our Real Wedding party right with a sunny, summer wedding in Standard, Alberta.  With darling, DIY details and a cozy, hometown feel, this wedding is sure to charm you!  Meg Courtney Photography shows us the love:

Filled with pretty, navy blue and yellow DIY details made by the Bride, Jessica & Reese had a gorgeous, summer wedding held in her hometown.  A true sense of community was felt throughout the day in the Bride's village of 500 people.  The bridal party consisted of lifelong friends who the Bride & Groom had known since childhood.  The Bride & Groom said "I Do!" under a striking yet simple log arch in her grandparent's picturesque backyard.  The party continued in the Alberta Community Hall where the community gathered to wish the Bride & Groom a bright, happy future.

My Favorite Moment: I'm a sap- just look at the love between the Bride & Father of the Bride as they walk down the aisle!

My Favorite Detail: Hey, who doesn't adore a fabulous pair of Badgley Mischka bridal shoes?!

Congratulations, Jessica & Reese!

We have a Real Wedding double feature- tune in tomorrow for another beauty!

second. the celebration!

Due to my surgery one week prior, it was touch & go as to whether or not we would make it out to dinner to celebrate our second wedding anniversary.  As always, when there is a will, there is a way.  I somehow managed to scrape myself off the couch, take a shower & wear something besides yoga pants.  Our lovely anniversary dinner was well worth the effort!

We chose the charming Amanda's in our hometown of Hoboken, partly because we had never been there & partly because it was a fairly short, easy walk for me:

We lingered over a delicious meal, enjoying the good food & good company.  It was my first real meal in a week & I enjoyed every bite of my mussels appetizer, shrimp entree & molten chocolate cake dessert. Yum!  Afterwards, we stopped to mark the special occasion with a photo:

One more photo of our happy night before we headed home:

At home, my sweet husband gave me beautiful, traditional red roses for our second wedding anniversary:

It was a second anniversary to remember!

second.

Two years ago on January 15, 2011, we got married!

I was head over heels in love with my husband the day I married him.  If you told me on my wedding day that I would say what I am about to say, I wouldn't have thought it would be possible.  But it is.  It's possible & real & true & beautiful.  I love him now more than ever!

Happy Second Anniversary to my amazing husband!  This is only the beginning!! xo

Hello, 2013- so nice to see you!

 Hello, Koru family & friends!

Here we are on the seventh day of the New Year & I'm already breaking promises.  I said I'd be on a blogging hiatus until my second wedding anniversary on January 15 but I couldn't resist popping in with a quick greeting.  I hope this finds you happy & well.  2013 may be merely days old yet things are progressing quickly on personal & professional levels for me.  It's quite exciting!  & maybe a bit scary too if I'm being perfectly honest.  My heart is racing with the hope & beauty of what lies ahead this year.  Anything is possible!

I mean it this time: I'll be back on a regular basis with a lovely mixture of beautiful real weddings, fabulous wedding inspiration & notes from my married life on January 15!

Cheers to your health & happiness in 2013!
