Happy Wedding Wednesday!
At first glance, this snowy wedding looks like a winer wedding. That is the surprise- it's a spring wedding! Imagine how shocked the Bride & Groom were to see snow on their spring wedding day. Not even Mother Nature can get in the way of true love & they kept smiling & enjoying their beautiful wedding. Elegant Images- Colorado shows us the beauty:
Lauren & Tristan got married on April 21 at Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado. Surrounded by Halls Ranch Open Space, the private estate offers incredible views of the picturesque Colorado mountains. A surprise spring snowstorm made those mountain views snowy & special on Lauren & Tristan's wedding day! The blue & brown color palette accented with colorful flowers popped beautifully against the wintery landscape.
Thankfully, the snow was the only wedding day surprise. The wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to the good attitudes of the Bride & Groom. They didn't let the white stuff ruin their day! The ceremony was moved indoors to keep everyone warm & cozy. Surrounded by their friends & family with snow falling outside, they said "I Do!" The new Mr. & Mrs. braved the elements to capture sweet newlywed moments against the wintery backdrop. The reception in the Grand Ballroom started with a traditional First Dance, then the Bride & Groom kicked off the dance party. It was a winter wonderland spring wedding to remember!

Horses! Chickens! A wedding! Prepare yourself for cute farm animals & rustic wedding goodness as a lovely Bride & Groom tie the knot on the Groom's childhood family farm. bycherry photography was on hand to capture the fun:
Home weddings are a certain kind of special. When that home is the Groom's family farm, the wedding is in a league of its own! Caitlin & Tyler got married on October 13, 2012 at his family's farm situated in the horse country of Agoura Hills, outside of Los Angeles, California. To match the rolling hills & natural beauty, they wanted a down-home, rustic vibe to their big day. Mission accomplished!
The outdoor ceremony took place on the farm's lawn. Simple white chairs formed an aisle decorated with bright, colorful flowers in jars. The Bride wore a strapless, beaded gown with a bird cage veil & carried a vibrant, wildflower bouquet. The Bride & Groom said "I Do!" under the pure blue sky in front of their dear family & friends.
Then the Bride & Groom strolled the farm's beautiful grounds taking photos. They even stopped to pose with the horses & chickens!
The merriment continued at the outdoor reception where the champagne & laughter were free flowing. Under large trees strung with white lights, guests were seated at white tables were scattered & decorated with orange & blue flowers in jars. A tent was nearby for everyone to dance the night away! But first they were treated to the wedding cake, perfectly modeled after birch tree bark with the couples's initials carved into it. Truly a wedding good to the very last rustic detail!

True story- once or twice or many
times, I took a tub of cake frosting & a bag of animal crackers
& called it dinner. Yes, I am a huge fan of cake frosting!
Buttercream frosting, cream cheese frosting, vanilla frosting- you name
the frosting, I love it. Still, unfrosted wedding cakes are really growing on me. I'm not sure I would
want to eat one but the naked wedding cakes sure are pretty!
In the prettiest shades of purple, the mini-ombre cake is just fabulous:
The three-tiered cake lets its natural beauty shine through with just a perfect dash of powdered sugar, fruit & daisies:
Red velvet cake is a new love of mine; naturally, I adore an unfrosted one that lets its red roots show proudly:
If you're taking the unfrosted wedding cake route, go big or go home with an amazing naked wedding cake display:
Sometimes unfrosted cakes seem a bit messy with the frosting between layers having a mind of its own but here is a clean cut, unfrosted wedding cake decorated with berries & flowers. A real winner in my eyes:
Naked wedding cakes have never looked so good! Are you a fan? More importantly, have you ever eaten cake frosting for dinner? Please don't let me the only one.
