{Rustic Vermont Wedding} Julie & Andrew

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Want pure wedding magic?  Combine a love story with Vermont charm!  Seriously, it may be that simple.  With a classic red barn, stunning natural beauty & plenty of rustic touches, that wedding magic is on full display here.   Lucas DeSousa Photography shows us the beauty:

Julie & Andrew got married on July 28, 2012 at Inn at Baldwin Creek in Bristol, Vermont.  The beautiful Bride & dashing Groom started their wedding day with a darling First Look ending in a big old kiss!  With their nerves out of the way, they were free to take portraits with each other & their bridal party on the picturesque grounds.  The wedding ceremony was held in the lovely Red Barn, sparsely but sweetly decorated with twinkling white lights & natural flower arrangements.  The Bride & Groom said "I Do!" in front of the open barn doors as the rain poured outside.  A little rain is no match for true love!  In celebration of their marriage, the farm fresh dinner was served in the white Camelot tent.  The reception tables were decorated with white cloths, varying wildflower arrangements & table names of special places for the couple.  Back in the Red Barn, the new Mr. & Mrs. danced the night away with their dear family & friends.

My Favorite Moment:  I really adore the Bride & Groom saying their vows just a step away from the pouring rain.  Proof that rain can't ruin a wedding!

My Favorite Detail:  The Red Barn!

Congratulations, Julie & Andrew!

{bridal bouquets} overflowing

Since my style leans towards simple & sweet, I've always favored compact, tightly clustered bridal bouquets.  However, my eyes are always open, as is my mind, & lately, I've fallen in love with a different type of bridal bouquet.  Large, overflowing bridal bouquets are not simple but they are simply beautiful!

A bit loose, a bit wild & just brimming over with beauty!

{noteworthy} Alt Summit NYC Party

One last Alt Summit NYC post!  I've shared what I learned from the speakers at Alt Summit NYC.  I've described Martha Stewart's appearance at Alt Summit NYC.  Now it's time to share scenes from the Alt Summit NYC party!

Sponsored by Martha Stewart & JCPenney in honor of MarthaCelebrations, a lovely line of coordinated party decorations, serveware & stationery, & MarthaPantry, a scrumptious line of quality food, the party was quite beautiful & very fun.  Just what you would expect from Martha Stewart!

A big hit was the awesome rainbow tower candy buffet, featuring glass vessels & yummy candy from MarthaCelebrations:

The glorious dessert table was delicious offering tasty treats from MarthaPantry & stylish decorations from MarthaCelebrations:

& a party just isn't a party these days without a little photo booth fun!  The Photo booth from Smilebooth, combined with party decor from MarthaCelebrations, elicited big smiles from me & Jen of Jen Kim Creative:

We drank, we ate, we laughed, we enjoyed.  Trust me, fun was had by all!

{Glamorous San Francisco Wedding} Anahita & Mehndi

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Today's gorgeous wedding is a perfect blend of modern glamour, timeless tradition & San Francisco.  It just doesn't get any more fabulous!   IQphoto Studio shows us the beauty:

Anahita & Mehndi got married on September 1, 2012 in San Francisco.  Their elaborate wedding was a modern love affair laced with classic traditions.  In a nod to their Persian heritage & its customs, the luxurious wedding had two distinct stages.

The "Aghed" is the first stage & it's the actual legal process of getting married.  This small, intimate ceremony was held at historic San Francisco City Hall.  The Bride & Groom said "I Do!" & took sweet portraits with the breathtaking architecture serving as a stunning backdrop.

The second stage of marriage consists of a religious ceremony including the "Sofreh Aghd."  In a beautifully decorated room at the Fairmont San Francisco, the "Sofreh Aghd", an elaborately decorated spread on the floor, was set-up for the Bride & Groom.  Every item has a special meaning, such as eggs symbolize fertility, gold symbolizes prosperity & mirrors & candelabras symbolize light & fire.  The Bride & Groom sat by the "Sofreh Aghd" while female relatives held a delicate fabric over their heads during the traditional marriage rituals & customs.

The lavish feast, good music & fun dancing followed in the dazzling Gold Room, featuring crystal chandeliers, ornate bas reliefs & French Provincial details.  Along with their 250 guests, the Bride & Groom celebrated their new marriage with plenty of food, drink, laughter & dancing.  What a romantic, radiant wedding!

Nobody says it better than the Bride: "Wedding day was magical. When I heard people say their wedding day is the best day of their lives, I used to wonder why! Now I can tell it was definitely one of the best days of my life because I had so many people who love me and I love them join our celebration."

(Disclaimer: I did a bit of research to properly explain the Persian marriage rituals & customs.  If I have made any mistakes, I sincerely apologize.  Thank you!)

My Favorite Moment: I love the Bride & Groom wandering the streets of San Francisco & capturing their love.

My Favorite Detail: The "Sofreh Aghd" is beyond amazing.  The more I look at it, the more I notice!  So lovely, so meaningful.

Congratulations, Anahita & Mehndi!
