Happy Wedding Wednesday!
One of my very first jobs as a wedding planning assistant was a wedding in Vermont &, ever since, Vermont weddings have had a spot in my heart. As you admire this Vermont wedding, I think you will see why they are so special. There is just something unique & serene about a love story played out among lake shores & mountain views mixed with wrap-around porches & country hospitality. Erica & Mike got married on August 19, 2012 at the historic Grand Isle Lake House in South Hero, Vermont. At the spectacular lakeshore setting of the Grand Isle Lake House, there are grand views of the Green Mountains & Lake Champlain. It only gets more beautiful with darling pink & white touches added for this gorgeous wedding.
The outdoor ceremony took place under the bright blue skies. The beautiful Bride walked down a pink rose petal aisle to marry her handsome Groom at the pink & white floral altar. After becoming husband & wife, the beaming newlyweds took time to themselves on the Lake Champlain shoreline.
Guests sipped cocktails & enjoyed dinner on the grand wrap-around porch with its quintessential Vermont views. Festive pink & white paper lanterns hung from the porch ceiling, while mercury votives glowed next to pink & white flowers on each table to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Later, guests moved to the tent for dancing & celebrating. What a perfectly lovely wedding!

My Favorite Detail: I'm seem to be on a paper lantern kick lately- I adore the glowing pink & white paper lanterns on the porch!

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of attending The Horticultural Society of New York's public viewing of their annual Spring Gala, The New York Flower Show Dinner Dance at The Altman Building with Jen of Jen Kim Creative. The venue was filled with 23 tables, each amazing tablescape design was created by some of New York City's top floral designers. I was WOWED! The creativity & talent was simply extraordinary!!
To show you these absolute beauties, I'll be popping in now & then with a wedding centerpiece post- like today! My personal style leans more towards sweet & simple but I really admired the large, overflowing centerpieces that were showcased. Just take a look:

Today marks the very first elopement to appear on Koru Wedding Style- exciting! You won't see a Bride wearing a white wedding gown or a Bride & Groom cutting into an elaborate, five-tier wedding cake. But you will see a whole lot of love which is what truly matters in weddings big & small. Gabrielle Orcutt Photography shows us the small but mighty elopement:
Ayren & Justin eloped on July 12, 2012. Their short, intimate wedding ceremony was held at the local courthouse. Shortly before the ceremony, Ayren's Grandma Helen convinced the Bride to follow one family tradition of hiding a $20 bill in her bra so she did not marry without money. Not only is it good to have money tucked away, it's considered good luck! The emotional event lasted a mere eight minutes, officiated by a close family friend, Judge Cherry. Only Justin's sons, Ayren's Grandma & both sets of parents were present as the Bride & Groom exchanged vows. The Bride & Groom sealed their promises with a kiss & triumphantly left the courthouse as husband & wife. They departed for their home where a small group of family & friends had gathered to eat cake & wish the newlyweds well. After spending time with their guests, the newlyweds were bid farewell as they left for their Hawaiian honeymoon. A sweet, simple day for a lovely couple!
