{adventures} Northeast Kingdom of Vermont
Since I featured a Vermont wedding yesterday, now seems like an ideal time to share photos from my July vacation in Vermont. RZ, Bailey & I, along with my Mom & her two best friends, spent one week in the gorgeous Northeast Kingdom. Oh, so beautiful! & oh so much fun!!
We stayed on sweet Lake Salem in Derby, Vermont. The sweeping lake views from our house were unbelievable:
RZ & I rented a tandem kayak for the week from the awesome folks at Clyde River Recreation. They made it incredibly easy for us by delivering & picking up the kayak. We thoroughly enjoyed several fun kayak trips on picturesque Lake Salem:
For swimming, we traveled to nearby glacial Lake Willoughby, a stunning lake surrounded by green mountains. It was the perfect spot for soaking up the sun & dipping in the water. The lake was so pretty, its clear water was so refreshing:
When the sun refused to shine one day, we headed to Jay Peak & went to The Pump House Indoor Waterpark. The lazy river had my name on it! While I'd hoped to take the scenic tram ride to the top of the mountain, it was nixed because of the weather. The clouds still made for some dramatic views:
A big highlight of the trip was the The Northern Star Cocktail Cruise on Lake Memphremagog, a fresh water lake that spans from Newport, Vermont to Quebec, Canada. The whole gang went so we had great company while taking in the lovely views:
& just in case you were worried: Bailey was able to relax & unwind from the daily pressure & grind of his everyday life:
There is so much more to show & tell you but I'm trying to keep it short & sweet. It was the perfect getaway to truly unplug & live in the moment. Just take it slow & enjoy the views, not to mention the good company & the daily trips to the ice cream shop!

{Rustic Vermont Wedding} Julie & Andrew
Happy Wedding Wednesday!
Want pure wedding magic? Combine a love story with Vermont charm! Seriously, it may be that simple. With a classic red barn, stunning natural beauty & plenty of rustic touches, that wedding magic is on full display here. Lucas DeSousa Photography shows us the beauty:
Julie & Andrew got married on July 28, 2012 at Inn at Baldwin Creek in Bristol, Vermont. The beautiful Bride & dashing Groom started their wedding day with a darling First Look ending in a big old kiss! With their nerves out of the way, they were free to take portraits with each other & their bridal party on the picturesque grounds. The wedding ceremony was held in the lovely Red Barn, sparsely but sweetly decorated with twinkling white lights & natural flower arrangements. The Bride & Groom said "I Do!" in front of the open barn doors as the rain poured outside. A little rain is no match for true love! In celebration of their marriage, the farm fresh dinner was served in the white Camelot tent. The reception tables were decorated with white cloths, varying wildflower arrangements & table names of special places for the couple. Back in the Red Barn, the new Mr. & Mrs. danced the night away with their dear family & friends.
My Favorite Moment: I really adore the Bride & Groom saying their vows just a step away from the pouring rain. Proof that rain can't ruin a wedding!
My Favorite Detail: The Red Barn!
Congratulations, Julie & Andrew!

{bridal bouquets} overflowing
Since my style leans towards simple & sweet, I've always favored compact, tightly clustered bridal bouquets. However, my eyes are always open, as is my mind, & lately, I've fallen in love with a different type of bridal bouquet. Large, overflowing bridal bouquets are not simple but they are simply beautiful!
A bit loose, a bit wild & just brimming over with beauty!

{noteworthy} Alt Summit NYC Party
One last Alt Summit NYC post! I've shared what I learned from the speakers at Alt Summit NYC. I've described Martha Stewart's appearance at Alt Summit NYC. Now it's time to share scenes from the Alt Summit NYC party!
Sponsored by Martha Stewart & JCPenney in honor of MarthaCelebrations, a lovely line of coordinated party decorations, serveware & stationery, & MarthaPantry, a scrumptious line of quality food, the party was quite beautiful & very fun. Just what you would expect from Martha Stewart!
A big hit was the awesome rainbow tower candy buffet, featuring glass vessels & yummy candy from MarthaCelebrations:
The glorious dessert table was delicious offering tasty treats from MarthaPantry & stylish decorations from MarthaCelebrations:
& a party just isn't a party these days without a little photo booth fun! The Photo booth from Smilebooth, combined with party decor from MarthaCelebrations, elicited big smiles from me & Jen of Jen Kim Creative:

We drank, we ate, we laughed, we enjoyed. Trust me, fun was had by all!
