Welcome to Week Four (!!) of the local New Jersey & New York wedding series!  Each Wedding Wednesday features a local New Jersey or New York wedding & other days present details from local weddings that I love, like subway seating chart & subway wedding photos from last week.  Today, we're back to local details that I adore- sweets & the New York City skyline.

Black & white cookies are a delicious staple at every tri-state area bakery.  Yummy.  I've enjoyed countless black & white cookies in my lifetime!  They are simply classic New York.  Black & white cookie favors are a perfect choice for a New York City wedding.  The wedding guests walk away with a little taste & flair of the city.  & just to seal the local deal- the treats were sealed with a New York City skyline label.  Two thumbs up!

While I may be blogging about New York City, my heart & prayers are with the strong people of Boston!  I wish those affected by the tragedy much strength & comfort.

{Sneak Peek} Amy & Matthew

Friday has finally arrived, the weekend is here- yippee!  A busy wedding season kicks off with a wedding tomorrow so you can color me ten shades of excited.  Before we part ways, here is a sneak peek at next Wedding Wednesday:

{Long Island Vineyard Wedding} Krista & Paul

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Continuing our local New Jersey & New York wedding series, today's wedding brings us to the family-owned estate vineyard & winery, Bedell Cellars, on Long Island.  With the lush landscape, classic white flowers & glowing white paper lanterns, this wedding is just the prettiest little affair.  Roberto Falck Photography shows us the beauty:

Krista & Paul got married on September 27, 2012 at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, New York.  The outdoor ceremony & tented reception offered stunning views of the vineyard & farmland.  With such a lovely location, the Bride & Groom went the timeless, romantic route with plenty of white flowers, glowing white lanterns, soft candlelight & small, thoughtful touches.  The wedding is full of pretty!

& now, I am honored to share a few words from the Bride, Krista:  

"It is hard to narrow down my favorite wedding day memory as it was all so very special to me.  If I had to choose one moment aside from walking down the aisle to my future husband Paul, it was walking into the pavilion at Bedell Cellars, being surrounded by all of our family & friends & knowing we had several hours to celebrate our marriage with them all in once place.  In that moment, we both felt so blessed, not only for all the loving contributions they have made to each of our lives over the years, but that our friends & family would take the time & travel distances to be there for the occasion.  I also felt extremely lucky for having the great vendors that we did.  We felt very strongly that we wanted to have a wedding celebration & setting that showed how special everyone in the room was to us & seeing the room, the table settings & the care & attention that each vendor had spent on the small details of the day was very gratifying & humbling.  We were & are very appreciative."

My Favorite Moment:  The First Look is just pretty darn sweet.

My Favorite Detail:  I fell in love with the white lanterns glowing throughout the reception.  Best use of white paper lanterns ever!

Welcome to Week Three of the local New Jersey & New York wedding series!  Each Wedding Wednesday features a local New Jersey or New York wedding & other days present details from local weddings that I love, like skyline save-the-dates & skyline wedding photos from last week.  Today, we're back to the New York Subway.

Ah, the good old New York City subway map.  If you visit or live in New York City, you have stood in front of this exact map once or twice or a million times, trying to figure out how to get from here to there.  I even have a pocket-sized subway map tucked away in my purse.  For a New York City wedding, it's quite clever & original to show your wedding guests the way to their reception seat with a giant, colorful subway map.  But it gets even better.  The tables are named after popular New York City spots, like the Empire State Building & Brooklyn Bridge, & the table guest lists are traced back to the subway stop for that spot.      

Fortunately, no stops or transfers are required to get to the tables at the reception!

Living in Hoboken, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, I count myself pretty lucky to see the New York City skyline every day.  Day or night, it is a spectacular sight.  It comes as no surprise to me that many New Jersey & New York couples take pause in their wedding day to pose with the New York City skyline.  No doubt that a little skyline adds some magic to wedding photos!

Nothing puts a stamp on a New Jersey or New York wedding like the Manhattan skyline!
