{seating card display} wedding subway

Welcome to Week Three of the local New Jersey & New York wedding series!  Each Wedding Wednesday features a local New Jersey or New York wedding & other days present details from local weddings that I love, like skyline save-the-datesskyline wedding photos from last week.  Today, we're back to the New York Subway.

Ah, the good old New York City subway map.  If you visit or live in New York City, you have stood in front of this exact map once or twice or a million times, trying to figure out how to get from here to there.  I even have a pocket-sized subway map tucked away in my purse.  For a New York City wedding, it's quite clever & original to show your wedding guests the way to their reception seat with a giant, colorful subway map.  But it gets even better.  The tables are named after popular New York City spots, like the Empire State Building & Brooklyn Bridge, & the table guest lists are traced back to the subway stop for that spot.
Fortunately, no stops or transfers are required to get to the tables at the reception!

{escort cards} metro

Since we are diving into New York & New Jersey weddings for the next few weeks, I will bringing you a steady diet of New York & New Jersey details that I adore.  Our first contender is the MetroCard escort card!

If there is one item that resides in the wallet of every New Yorker, it's a MetroCard.  A MetroCard is a bit like a Manhattan passport.  It is accepted on city subways & buses; it can take you anywhere & everywhere!  As such, MetroCard escort cards are an absolutely perfect detail for a New York City wedding.  Or for a New York City couple getting married elsewhere.

MetroCard escort cards bring local flavor & charm to the special occasion!

{escort card display} in bed with carnations

If you've been around here long enough, you know that I show love for carnations now & then.  Carnations are pretty, simple & inexpensive- what's not to love?  Just look at those sweet carnations bordering classic roses in the bridal bouquet above!  & yet.  Carnations are often unloved & forgotten in the wedding world.  However, I am noticing them a bit more in weddings (three cheers!) & one little carnation trend is catching my eye & heart: escort cards nestled in a bed of carnations.  Take a look:

I adore the bed of carnations for escort cards, especially since it's a big impact without a big price tag.  From the romantic look of the pink carnations to the modern look of the yellow carnations, this trend fits any wedding style.  Looks & sounds like a winner to me!

baby, baby

I've never had an opinion about baby's breath one way or the other until now. I see it popping up everywhere in the wedding world & I'm falling in love.  Baby's breath is so simple & sweet, just my style.

Here are a few examples of baby's breath in weddings that made me fall in love:

The bunting is darling but the baby's breath arrangements make the statement for this ceremony altar:

Baby's breath bridal bouquet that is seemingly heaven-sent:

Delicate baby's breath mixed with fragile stephanotis is bridesmaid bouquet perfection:

Escort cards nestled in a bed of fluffy baby's breath is quite genius:

Varied containers wrapped with ribbon & filled with baby's breath makes the ultimate simply pretty centerpieces:

Best of all, baby's breath is inexpensive.  Music to the ears of Brides on a tight budget!

Are you seeing baby's breath everywhere too?  Hate, Love or Like?  I vote LOVE!

Pretty in Pink, Part Two

Pretty in Pink escort card & menu

Pretty in Pink design close-up

Above items were designed to perfectly coordinate
with the Pretty in Pink pocket invitation

The design started here with the wedding invitation

I experience a short mourning period when my Brides & Grooms get married. Whether I was assisting them with invitations or helping them with planning, I miss their phone calls, emails & visits. Such is the case with the Pretty in Pink couple. I started designing their wedding invitation with them in November & throughout the next few months, we worked on escort cards, menus & a Soon-to-Be Mrs. hoodie together. Then they got married in late June & they happily entered newlywed territory. Sigh.

But let's concentrate on the positive here. Don't you love the escort cards & menus designed to match their wedding invitations? I adore it when a Bride & Groom carry through a design in all of their wedding stationery. The shimmer paper, pink design & chocolate fonts were a constant from the wedding invitation to the escort card to the menu. Simply beautiful!

Taste of the Tropics

Jullian's full stationery set is on display
at Koru Wedding Shoppe

A table number, escort card & menu fit for the tropics

The wedding menu describing a feast reflecting the local tastes

Matching table numbers & escort cards to show the wedding guests the way!

I'm in full "Life Goes On" mode today. Gucci & Kaydee are missed so much but I can't sit home & mope. I don't know how to function any other way. Since I can't wallow, watching bad movies & eating tubs of ice cream, I'm going to concentrate on something happy & fun.

On that note, I wanted to share with you a complete stationery set designed for a destination wedding in Puerto Rico. Can you get much better than thinking of palm trees & sunshine? I showcased Jullian's wedding invitation in January, maybe you remember. Her wedding invitation featured a Mango design with Slate print, just perfect for an elegant, tropical wedding. I was thrilled when she came to me last month to order matching menus, table numbers & escort cards. While you don't have to follow any rules, it's great to carry a theme throughout your wedding for a cohesive feel. Jullian's wedding guests will be greeted with escort cards informing them of their table assignment. Table numbers will guide them to the correct table. Finally, a wedding menu will detail their meal of local flavors. Each stationery item perfectly coordinates with the wedding invitation & each other. Jullian put a lot of heart & thought into her wedding design & it will show. Her wedding guests are so lucky!

I wish Jullian & Gregory a lifetime of love, laughter & happily ever after!
